Belgian waffles. Belgian chocolate. Tom Hades. Some things don't need much of an explanation. Such is the case with the Belgian Techno maestro, whose career is moving him towards legendary status. Covering all flavours within the techno and tech house genres with his productions released on respected labels such as Adam Beyer's Drumcode, John Digweed's Bedrock, Umek's 1605, and long-time collaborator Marco Bailey's MB Elektronics, it’s obvious that Tom Hades can tackle all dimensions of the sound with unparalleled ease. Never one to shy away from globetrotting, Tom Hades DJ-ing and live shows have taken him around the world a multitude of times. From Fabric in London to Fabrik in Madrid, and from Awakenings to I Love Techno, his work ethic demonstrates a literal tour de force. Tom Hades started to discover and experiment with electronic music when listening to the likes of DAF, Kraftwerk and Front 242 in his formative years. At the age of 15, he bought his first keyboard, the famous Casio CZ-101, transformed his Amiga 500 into a digital audio workstation, and started creating music. Having met Marco Bailey in 2000, they made the huge anthem "I Love Techno" in 2001, a global phenomenon that led to Tom starting to do live performances and playing all over the world. In 2004 they launched the successful Rhythm Convert label, which was re-launched in 2010 as Rhythm Converted, a solo project run by Tom alone. Having already attracted many big artists, the label is moving ever upwards in the global techno scene. Having released his debut artist album, ‘Rude Boy’, in collaboration with Marco Bailey in 2004, they followed up with ‘E=mc2’ in 2009 on MB Elektronics. Both albums were critically acclaimed around the world and were stepping stones towards ‘The Missing Touch’, the first solo album from Tom Hades in 2013.
Many techno artists’ biographies start off by singing the praises of an extremely early, extraordinary talent on synthesizers and other electronic devices. In Heron’s case, things are a bit different. Martin Spittel aka Heron has been shaped musically since his early childhood; his influences are as diverse as you can possibly imagine (hint: it ranges from Trash Metal to Detroit Techno). Martin has an extraordinary passion for nature, wildlife and especially birds. This symbiosis from the love of nature and musical influences from his childhood are a direct reflection of Heron’s entire life and career. Following the scream of the waders (limicoline birds), he moved to picturesque island Norderney in Germany back in 2005. There, exploring the island’s national park, he decided to live up to his ever-growing enthusiasm for nature by studying landscape ecology at the University of Münster. It was this relocation to Münster that initially sparked his music career: the months in Norderney served as inspiration for his own label “Limikola” (founded in 2008), which now achieves enormous support from both DJs and fans all over the world. Producing his own music, running a successful label and club night, doing a radio show and DJ’ing, are all skills Heron has crafted to perfection over the years. This hard work started to pay off in early 2008 during the season’s opening at Time Warp when Richie Hawtin played all three tracks from his Retro EP. Heron’s journey continued with his bombshell track “Welcome to the Adventure Club” and pushed further forward with other big releases for Synewave, Supdub, Swap, micro.fon, Prosthetic Pressings and Hans Bouffmyhre’s Sleaze Records, to name a few. Besides all these projects, Heron felt the need to keep a focus on his old school roots more and more. With remixes for Damon Wild's Techno classic "Avion", Tim Grothe and Ziel 100 as well as with his release Rivière du Détroit on Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records, Heron showed us where he truly comes from.
Born in Istanbul, Ferhat Albayrak is a passionate Techno-Head since the beginning. Techno is the best genre for him to express himself in the object of the beat. Istanbul; a city of chaos and diversity, reflects and forms the basics of Ferhat's Sound in terms of dynamism: distinctive, seductive, innovative and Technologic with soul. Ferhat started DJ'ing professionally in 1996 in Istanbul and took all the steps from radiowaves to clubs, from events to festivals and became an experienced & requested Techno DJ in Turkey, playing alongside of Superstars like Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Tiësto, Paul Van Dyk, Mauro Picotto, Dave Clarke, Marco Bailey, Christian Varela, Samuel L. Session, Miss Kittin, Max Graham, Benny Benazzi and many others... But lovely Turkey has never been enough for him and in order to be recognized globally he started the shaping and molding of his own productions in 2006 and tried to share his music overseas. His music started to be released in 2007 by several labels like Restructured, Advanced and *Cutz, thus taking the attention of "Mighty" Carl Cox and his first appearance as a producer was on Carl Cox's "King of Clubs, Six years at Space" Double-CD Compilation, with his (in Mr.Cox 's words) wicked track "Let the game begin". This track has been supported by many Techno stars worldwide, led by Carl Cox, well before release. It was a milestone for Ferhat and soon he was "Guest DJ of the week" on Carl Cox's respected international radio show "Global" in June 2007, broadcast on 21 different countries' radios as well as a huge online following, and taking massive feedback worldwide since the program has been all over the world. Mr. Cox continued to support Ferhat by featuring his track "Giga Tanz" on his "Ultimate Compilation" released in February 2008 by Ministry of Sound and Universal Music. Ferhat's global career has been accelerated by his taking part in world's biggest dance music festival "Global Gathering UK" in July 2007, alongside the biggest names in the industry. In 2008 he has been invited to "Giant" Love Parade in Dortmund, running and compiling his own truck team with his friend Max Van Der Rose. The Truck, named "Turkish Delights", got huge support alongside the 36 different trucks at the Love Parade. Without any doubt, his biggest gig was in Space Ibiza on August 2009 alongside Carl Cox at the main stage and this set opened the doors to Ferhat in becoming a global DJ. He returned to Space Ibiza in the summer of 2012 and this time he performed at the famous “covered terrace”. In order to spread his sound to more people, Ferhat established his own label; Jeton Records in 2009 with one purpose; imprint quality Techno hits to the space. The label, also the home for his own records and remixes, comes with the mission of being a global home of extraordinary and uncommon records from the créme de la créme artists and from the best of upcoming new breed. His label is considered as one of the best upcoming Techno labels is the world.
